Private Orthopedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to their team.  This Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will be working in an Orthopedic Urgent Care Clinic that will handle muscular skeletal injuries.  The newly hired Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat common muscular skeletal problems.  This position is clinic based.  If desired, the position can include some OR time.  Common injuries include  sprain, strains, fractures, wound care and post-op problems.  Responsibilities include:  H&P’s, injury evaluation, fracture reduction, aspirations, injections and providing patient education.  Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners must have a VA license or one pending.  


Successful Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner should be NCCPA-Certified, highly motivated and hard working.  Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners need to have some experience!  Experience in ER or Primary Care would be fine if there is some exposure to musculoskeletal.  The position is 42 hours per week (four ten-hour shifts).  There is no call, but some weekend rotation (one in four is maximum). 


The location is 60 minutes to Roanoke which has several colleges, cultural activities, restaurants, numerous sports activities and reasonable cost of living.  Compensation:  Base salary range is open (depends on experience).  Additionally, there is a full benefits package provided which includes medical, dental, three weeks of vacation, one-week CME and allowance and 401k profit sharing plan.  Relocation assistance is available.
