The PA will work directly for a highly regarded Sports trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. This doctor specializes in shoulder reconstruction as well as knee and hip. This position is both clinic and OR. The group is also the team doctors for several local high schools. The PA would work directly with athletes and be able to provide team coverage at sporting events. Call is one week every two to three months.
The PA will have responsibility for first assisting in the OR and run their own clinic, which includes seeing both new and follow-up patients. The PA’s additional responsibilities include: evaluating and treating general orthopaedic injuries, fracture care, perform joint aspiration and injections, consultation and patient evaluation and education, and review lab results in a clinic setting.
Successful candidate must be NCCPA-Certified. The location is the DFW area. The group prefers an experienced Orthopaedic PA but will training a new graduate with an orthopaedic rotation and Texas license or one pending. Preference also for a PA with undergraduate in ATC, sports medicine, kinesiology etc. The group prefers local candidates or candidates that have ties to the region.
Compensation: Base salary range is open, plus a bonus. Additionally, there is a full benefits package.
