Monroe CMHA is looking for a part-time psychiatric prescriber. A Psychiatric Prescriber is either a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who works under the direction of a physician. Within the physician-prescriber relationship, the NP/PA exercises autonomy in medical decision-making and provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The NP/PA responsibiliities include; reviewing and updating medical histories; prescribe, administer and dispense medications; conducting complete diagnostic assessments and individual treatment plans; and initiating requests for diagnostic procedures.
This position provides medication reviews every 4-12 weeks, as clinically indicated.
The caseload will be a mix of adult consumers with either a mental illness or developmental disabilities, co-occurring substance abuse disorders, and child and adolescent consumers.
Assignment is primarily at the Raisinville site, and occasional temporary assignments to nursing homes, the jail or the ACT program.
