ImmediCenter was the concept of physicians Michael P. Basista, Daniel T. Bernheim and Stephen LaPoff, who opened the first facility in June 1984. Though the first of its kind in the state, the urgent care center was so well received by the community that within two years, the doctors opened a second clinic in Bloomfield. A third was eventually established in Totowa.

ImmediCenter was the concept of physicians Michael P. Basista, Daniel T. Bernheim and Stephen LaPoff, who opened the first facility in June 1984. Originally, the clinics served patients needing immediate care for injuries r periodic acute illnesses. However, the convenience of the clinic locations and the quality of care that patients received influenced the community to request that the facilities include primary care services. Today, our clinics are also known as Patient Centered Care Homes. In addition to practicing emergency medicine, physicians also see patients who suffer from chronic conditions on a long-term basis.

The ImmediCenter clinics function in cooperation with local hospitals and primary care providers. The fees charged are similar to those charged by traditional physicians' offices, which is more economical for cases requiring immediate medical intervention but that are not serious enough to need an emergency room visit. Walk-ins are always welcome.
