Orthopaedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant to work directly with a Sports Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. Surgical procedures performed include: total joints, shoulders (rotator cuffs and labrum), knees (ACL) and fracture care. The newly-hired PA would eventually run an orthopaedic clinic in parallel to the Doctor. The PA will be in the clinic three days plus per week and the balance in the OR. Included in the doctor’s patient base is a good volume of athletes (college and high school etc.).
Responsibilities include: H&P’s, patient evaluation and education, refers for diagnostic treatment, first assist, review lab results, cortisone injections and aspirations, treat basic fractures, hospital rounds, casting and splinting within a clinic setting. Successful candidate should be NCCPA-Certified and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. There is some call to be arranged and will be paid. The practice prefers candidates with orthopaedic experience, but they will train a recent graduate PA that has an orthopaedic rotation. They would prefer candidates that have ties to the upstate New York area. The location is within 55 minutes to the Binghamton area.
Compensation: Competitive compensation package. Additionally, there is a full benefits package (vacation, medical, dental, STD, LTD, pension etc.). Also, relocation and or sign-on are available.
