The department handles all orthopaedic injuries (extensive total joints, hand, F&A etc.). This position is clinic based! The PA will see new and follow-up orthopaedic patients.
The newly-hired PA will support all sub-specialty trained Orthopaedic Surgeons within the Department of Orthopaedics. Specific responsibilities include: H&P’s, post and pre-operative care, injections (small joints and bursa), coordinate with PT/OT Departments, writing prescriptions, ordering tests and managing records. There is no call and no weekends. The position is five days per week and a total of 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). If additional hours are worked, the PA will be paid time and a half.
Successful candidate must be NCCPA-Certified. Candidates must have a NY license. The group will train a recent graduate with a NY license (or pending) and that is available for employment within 60 to 90 days. The recent graduate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and procedural-oriented. Preference is for local candidates. Candidates must be living in the New York Metro area and again, must be available to start within 60 to 90 days!
