Description

In this role, he/she will be responsible for conducting initial physical exams and clearance for new hires, as well as, ensuring compliance with annual mandatory requirements for all staff, students, volunteers, agency staff and independent contractors. These processes may include administering vaccines, blood draws, and interpretation of lab values and/or recommendations for further follow-up. In addition, he/she will be responsible for maintaining the medical database for all. He/she may assist in infection control activities such as PPE training, post-exposure evaluation, documentation, and follow-up and traveling to off-site campuses to provide Employee Health Services. This position supports Hospital mission to provide the highest quality care by complying with regulatory guidelines, meeting agency standards, and obtaining appropriate certification.

 

Hours for this position are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm. This position will travel offsite as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE

Formal education required:

NYS Registered Licensed RN, MSN required

Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practioner Program

NYS, Nurse Practioner Certification and Registration

BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS, certifications a plus.

 

Previous experience required:

Minimum 2 years in healthcare preferably long term care, home care and/or Infection Control

One year experience in in an employee health or other clinic setting or physician’s office

Phlebotomy certification and/or experience

Familiarity with Department of Health standards of compliance to vaccinations and TB screening

 

Knowledge and Abilities

1. Able to read, write and speak the English language.

2. Able to work as a member of a team.

3. Able to support the concept of family-centered care.

4. Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred

5. Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical records preferred
