The Department of Nursing at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in nursing, with primary responsibilities in the RN-BS program, to begin in the spring of 2018 at the Branch Campus at Queensbury.
This program is fully accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education and well-established at the College. The Nursing Department currently serves approximately 450 undergraduate students. Responsibilities Include: Teaching in a blended and online environment, ongoing curriculum development, student advisement, participation in on-campus meetings, and clinical management. Additional responsibilities include advancing the mission of the department by contributing to the development of new and innovative programs in Nursing, and service to the department, university and community. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarship commensurate with rank.
Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Nursing OR Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a related Master's Degree is required, as well as unencumbered eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State. The ideal candidate demonstrates teaching ability in nursing education commensurate with the appropriate rank, strong communication skills, the ability to create new connections with practice partners, and the ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications: An earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field; Successful experience in clinical placements and site development; Successful new program development experience.
